Our premium, locally sourced organic grain is the same grain we use for making our commercial mushroom spawn. We think rye grain is the best type of grain to use for spawn, but everyone has their own preference, which is why we also supply oat grain, millet and wild bird seed.

Rye grain is easy to prepare and is considered the premium of all grain when it comes to mushroom cultivation. We have a high turn-over of recently harvested grain, so you can expect fresh.

  • Easy to prepare
  • Higher nutrients
  • Lower in starch
  • Minimal dust

For best results, soak and boil grain in our agricultural gypsum. It will stop the grains from sticking together after you’ve drained off the water and will also adding essential minerals to the grain which are essential for healthy fruiting and fast colonisation.

Good selection of organic grains at good prices. Would be nice to have a 25kg option if possible?

I've just noticed that you're now selling hydrated and steralised grain!!! And to think I've been buying grain myself the last couple of months 😉

For those who have the time, I've been using these grains for months, probably have been through 50 kg for spawn production alone, they are of good quality and even smell fresh.

Came 2 days after order. speedy delivery. Have always used rye grain but ordered some wild bird seed and millet to see if there is any difference in colonisation times. Both seem dust free, well packaged and cheaper than I can buy anywhere else. Laura

Do you ship pre-hydrated rye grain? I'm looking at buying quite a bit (40+ kg) I only have a small autoclave so it'll be an arse trying to do it all myself, I'm guessing you have a big industrial autoclave of some sort? Thanks
