Our Organic Brown Rice flour is perfect for making your own BRF cakes. 6 month shelf-life, 100% organic with no fungicides or pesticides.

Ground in small batches to ensure optimal freshness. Highly nutritous yet contamination resistant, popular when making BRF cakes and used in conjunction with Vermiculite to create the perfect substrate for your mushrooms.

A coarser ground flour, which some people prefer, can be made at home in a coffee grinder, food processor or vitamix blender using our whole grain organic brown rice. Try some and experiment.

Contains a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals which help to produce consistent healthy flushes. Can be used to grow a large variety of different mushrooms. Store in a cool, dry place.

I can only seem to find this in speciality health food stores near me and it's pretty expensive. Good value. Speedy delivery and well packaged. Slightly coarse ground, but still definitely a flour, sort of like coffee grounds consistency. I'm leaving this review after 3 weeks of growing mushrooms with the BRF method. Good colonisation, no contamination yet! Fingers crossed!! xx lexi xx

A sample of brown rice flour was included in my order for free as a 'sample to try' which was very kind of you so I'm leaving the first review for it.

Well… it's ground up organic brown rice. It's not quite as fine as normal rice flour you can buy in the store, has the consistency more of coarse ground coffee. I didn't think it would make much of a difference when making BRF cakes for growing mushrooms, and maybe it doesn't make *that* much difference, but it does stop the cakes (especially the bottoms) from getting gunked up and pastey. It also allows you to use a little more than what you usually would.

I'm told that this BRF flour is freshly ground to order (Which I have no reason to doubt) and that its coarser consistency is more beneficial for mycelial growth. Potentially due to increased airation, larger particle sizes, or because it doesn't paste up so much? I'm not sure. But, it seems to be working just fine, and it's lower in cost that what I can get elsewhere, so I'm giving it a 5* review.

Thanks for the sample and I hope this helps your sales in some way.
