Agar Agar

Agar is a gelatinous substance obtained from seaweed. When mixed with water, heated, and allowed to cool, ‘agar agar’ forms a solid gel, which is used as a growth medium to make agar petri dishes.

Agar itself is non-nutritive and is typically mixed with various nutrient bases and optional additives to provide food for the mushroom mycelium, thus ensuring optimal growth.

If you are interested in mycology and want to further your skills, you must get used to using agar. It is the best way to make clean cultures, analyse mycelial growth, make transfers, and ensure you have clean spawn.

All agars and additives listed are premium grade and the same ones we use in our own dedicated laboratory so you can be assured of their quality and freshness.

Individually packaged in air-tight mylar bags and made to order from fresh stocks.

These guys are great and definitely worth the coin! I don't get grow bags from anywhere else now but have found these have the perfect ratio of contents and have never been contaminated so it is clear its very sterile.
